itSMF Romania is the Romanian chapter of itSMF International, an international organization to spread best-practices for IT Service Management according to ITIL, located in the UK. itSMF RO is the only organization not-for-profit that is in principal run by its members.

About itSMF Romania

The IT Service Management Forum Ltd. (itSMF) is the only internationally recognised and independent organisation dedicated to IT Service Management. It is a not-for-profit organisation, wholly owned and principally operated by its membership. The Romanian chapter is ethically inked but completely independent and one of more than thirty chapters worldwide.

itSMF was formed in the UK in 1991 as the IT Infrastructure Management Forum (ITIMF), with the name changing in 1997 in order to reflect more accurately the organization’s focus. There is now an umbrella “International” body and national “chapters” of itSMF in the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Australia, South Africa, Canada and USA - with developing groups in several other countries (Korea, Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, et cetera). The itSMF is a major influence on, and contributor to, Industry “Best Practice” and Standards worldwide, working in partnership with a number of organizations including the OGC (formerly the CCTA), the British Standards Institution (BSI), the Information Systems Examination Board (ISEB) and the Examination Institute of the Netherlands (EXIN).
